Financial Specialist

Salary: $40,176–$48,156/year, depending upon qualifications and experience.

Job Description: Individual is responsible for the department purchasing program. Duties include:

  • Working with local offices to facilitate the purchasing process
  • Ensuring bids are solicited when required
  • Assigning purchase order numbers in accordance with guidelines and maintaining accurate records of all department purchases
  • Contacting vendors to gain knowledge of products and resolve contractual problems
  • Consulting vendors to clarify contract or purchasing-related issues
  • Maintaining inventory records and conducting physical counts or inventories of supplies to ensure accountability
  • Processing purchases and distributing and tracking inventory related to IT purchases
  • Coordinating county lease agreements and organizing office moves
  • Assisting with the administration of the purchase card programs
  • Other financial duties as assigned

Successful candidate will have:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good written and oral communication skills

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with specialization in business administration, accounting, or closely related fields. Progressively responsible work experience in closely related areas may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for education requirements. Experience with State of Missouri purchasing processes is a plus.
