District Defender – Jackson Trial Office

Salary: $8,040/month

Job Description: The District Defender serves as the managing attorney for the Jackson District Office. This 18-attorney office handles cases in Bollinger, Cape Girardeau, Mississippi, Perry, Scott, and Stoddard counties. In addition to caseload responsibilities, the District Defender is responsible for:

• Case assignments
• Monitoring employee performance
• Hiring
• Development and implementation of office policies

Qualifications: Must be a member of the Missouri Bar and have criminal law experience. Management experience preferred.
