Parole Revocation Defense team (subject to appropriation)

Salary: $7,470/month

Job Description: Seeking District Defender to serve as managing attorney of new unit to represent persons facing parole revocation hearings. This new unit will represent indigent persons eligible for public defender representation facing parole revocation hearings with Gagnon factors. The position is subject to appropriation from the Missouri legislature and Governor. Position may be located in Columbia, Kansas City or City of St. Louis. Statewide travel will be necessary.

In addition to caseload responsibilities, the District Defender is responsible for creation and implementation of office procedures and policies, case assignments, monitoring of employee performance and hiring. District Defender will serve as a liaison to Department of Corrections in developing procedures for the hearings.

Qualifications: Must be a member of the Missouri Bar and have criminal law experience. Management experience preferred.
