Financial Specialist
Salary: $40,176 – $48,156, depending upon qualifications and experience.
Job Description: Individual is responsible for the Department purchasing program which includes working with local offices to facilitate the purchasing process; ensuring bids are solicited when required; assigning purchase order numbers in accordance with guidelines and maintaining accurate records of all department purchases; contacting vendors to gain knowledge of products and resolve contractual problems; consulting vendors to clarify contract or purchasing related issues. Individual will also maintain inventory records and conduct physical counts or inventories of supplies to ensure accountability. Process purchases, distribute and track inventory related to IT purchases. Coordinate county lease agreements and organize office moves. Assist with the administration of the purchase card programs. Other financial duties as assigned.
Successful candidate will have working knowledge of Microsoft Office; strong organizational and attention to detail skills; ability to work independently; and good written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with specialization in business administration, accounting, or closely related fields. Progressively responsible work experience in closely related areas may be substituted on a year for year basis for education requirements. Experience with State of Missouri purchasing processes is a plus.
