Job Description: Individual will assist appellate/postconviction attorneys in variety of legal support tasks, including opening, closing, and archiving of case files and contacting clerks, court reporters and other court personnel to order/obtain necessary records and transcripts to prepare and e-file records on appeal. Also responsible for preparing correspondence and form motions, and e-filing motions, records, and briefs with the courts. This support position plays a crucial role in maintaining timely communication with clients, including scanning incoming correspondence, and printing, copying, and mailing records, briefs, and files to clients. Ability to multi-task, maintain a calendar, and meet court filing deadlines needed.
Qualifications: Education equivalent to graduation from high school and three years of experience in office or related clerical work. Legal experience, with substantial experience using word processing software and Case.net preferred.
