Paying Online

The Missouri Public Defender System accepts online payments using debit cards, credit cards, or electronic bank drafts. You can use MasterCard, Discover, Visa, and American Express. You will need the case number(s) for the case(s) you are paying. You can look up public case numbers by visiting Missouri Case.net, or you can call the Public Defender at 1-573-777-9944.

Important payment information

Effective November 1, 2016: If you have fees for multiple cases with the same case number, the amounts will be totaled under that case number. If you are paying for only one case, contact the Public Defender at 1-573-777-9944 to help ensure your payment is applied to the correct case.

Online payment fees

To make an online payment, use the payment link at the bottom of this page. Fees for online payments are listed below.

Electronic bank drafts (e-check)

You will need your routing number and checking or savings account number. Handling fee: $0.50

Credit card convenience fees

The following convenience fees apply to credit card payments:

$0.00 to $50.00: $1.25
$50.01 to $75.00: $1.75
$75.01 to $100.00: $2.15
$100.01 or more: 2.15%

Debit card convenience fees

The following convenience fees apply to debit card payments:

$0.00 to $66.00: $1.00
$66.01 or more: 1.50%

Note: Handling and convenience fees are paid to the third-party vendor, Collector Solutions, Inc., not to the Missouri State Public Defender System. Collector Solutions, Inc. may electronically debit a $25 service charge for an insufficient funds or closed account transaction, in addition to any charges your bank may assess.
