How To Schedule Collect Calls For Clients in the Missouri Department of Corrections (DOC)
MSPD has designated collect phone call lines for attorney calls with clients in select DOC facilities. If a DOC facility is not listed below, they do not require collect phone calls. In that case, attorneys should call the facility to arrange a non-collect call with clients. For those facilities where a collect call is required, MSPD will not schedule the phone call for you, but we will allow you to use the MSPD collect call line and we will transfer the call to the phone number you designate when your DOC call arrives. Counsel are responsible for arranging the phone call first with DOC, and then making sure MSPD has a call line available at that time. Here are the steps:
- Call the DOC facility (see table below) to learn what times/dates are available for a confidential attorney-client phone call. Please select two or three available dates/times that work for you, your client, and DOC.
- Email Case Contracting the dates/times you arranged with DOC in order of preference. Please include the client’s name and “Collect Call Request” in the Subject Line of your email. Please also provide the DOC facility from where the call will come, and your phone number you want us to transfer the call to.
- Once MSPD confirms your reservation, we will email you back with the confirmed date/time of your scheduled call on the MSPD collect call line.
- Finally, the attorney must send to DOC confirmation of the arranged call date/time with direction that the client place the call to 573-777-9732 (the MSPD collect call line). When the call arrives at MSPD, it will be forwarded to you at the number you provided.
